Well hello there. My name is Sometimes Heather, and I do many things. Sometimes I write, sometimes I play, and sometimes I make knitting patterns. On this site, you’ll find the latter.
I started knitting when I was six. The first real thing I made was an orange cardigan for a Barbie. I designed it myself, and was quite proud of it, though it was all wonky and loose. After the first dip into the knitting world, I mastered both stockinette and 1×1 rib. With these two elements, I knit my first pullover at the age of 10.
That was quite many years ago. During those many years, I’ve done and learned great many things. Some of those things I’ve forgotten, some have faded into oblivion, but one thing has remained through it all.
The utter and complete inability to stop making things.
I’ve worked as a knitting designer before under the name of Heather Wielding. Due to personal reasons, I needed to shed that skin, and start anew. You’ll find a few patterns from that era here, but mainly I, as Sometimes Heather, wish to concentrate on new designs.
I do hope you’ll enjoy them as much as I enjoy knitting.
