Category:

Granny Square to Cardigan is an easy level crochet pattern. It helps you crochet a rectangular cardigan using a variation of the granny stitch.

Granny Square to Cardigan is started from the middle of the back, and worked toward the outer edges. Arm holes are created mid-way, and the sleeves added as the last step. If you so choose, you can use this pattern to crochet a sleeveless vest.

Pattern includes illustrated instructions on how to crochet the cardigan. Pattern is available in English only.

What you’ll need

Granny Square to Cardigan is designed for Aran weight yarn and size 4mm/US6 hook. The amount of yarn required depends on the size. I’ve made two versions, one in black cotton, and one with red acrylic. For the acrylic version, I used 2400 meters of yarn.
