Simplest Shawl

Shawls are one of my go-to things during the winter. They’re warm, easy to create, and even easier to mix and match. My Simplest Shawl is designed to be all that: easy to crochet, easy to wear, delightful to wrap into.

I first designed the Simplest Shawl back in the year I-forget. The pattern has traveled with me for several years. Every once in a while I pull it out, tweak something, and put it away. The design is simple beyond belief; I’d be embarrassed to ask for payment for something so easy. I wanted the Simplest Shawl to be a gift, a free pattern for everyone to enjoy. During the past years, I didn’t really have a platform to offer a downloadable pattern. I didn’t even have a blog to write it into! As the idea of easing myself back into business surfaced, my first thought was “I get to give away my Simplest Shawl now! Yay!”

And here it is. Simple, fun, easy.

Purple Simplest ShawlI wanted the Simplest Shawl to compliment any style, any outfit. It’s worked in filet crochet, which consists of triple crochet and chain stitch. The pattern repeat requires zero effort, but the result is still lovely. I made two versions, a purple one with mohair blend, and a gray one with thicker cotton. I love both, and though they’re made in an almost identical way, they can be worn differently.

To show you the versatility of the Simplest Shawl, I’ve made a video on how I like to style and wear mine. I hope you’ll like it, I’m still shy about sharing my vids.

Both Simplest Shawls

This week, I’ve also launched another video about my Simplest Shawl. This one is a “let’s make something together” -type of a video. In it, I show you, step by step, how to make the Simplest Shawl. I do hope you’ll enjoy the pattern and the videos. I’d love to see your creations, so please use tag #simplestshawl in social media so I can find them.

Love,

Heather
